Paul Kurutz's PRR Northern Division

Contact: Paul Kurutz.

My layout is HO Scale and is 22 ft by 34 ft. Half is away from the wall and half against the wall. It is 2 levels with the branch from Ridgway on a third level. My system is DCC and I use Lenz walk around and the XPA for wireless. I built it in 3 phases -- the first to Ridgway, then to Johnsonburg. The 3rd to Riblet yard was completed last year. I am in the process of rebuilding the Ridgway branch to Falls creek. It will probaly take an year or so to complete it.

The scenery is cardboard strips with hardshell over top. The scenery is 3/4 complete. Switches are Peco with a combination of Hankscraft, NJ International, Micro-Mark, and Tortoise machines. My freind Ken Heister of Jeresy Shore build all the controls for them. (Printed circuit board operate the switches at multiple locations.) There are no classifacation yards; only industrial yards. Operation is by switch list and the color coded pin system. I am working on a different operating system that I found in one of the magazines...
