John Johnston's "Pennsylvania Railroad Horseshoe Curve"

Construction Photos, July 2007

Left side of Curve with the cardboard underlay and masking tape set to receive hardshell. It also show the sliding drawer in which the reservoir will be located. Having gotten tired of the Òpop upÓ in the old layout, I decided to use a ÒdrawerÓ this time to enable me to walk into the middle to do track maintenance and scenery work.

The drawer partially withdrawn.

The cardboard underlay.

The cardboard underlay covered with masking tape.

The first application of hydrocal over the masking tape to create the hardshell subbase for the scenery.
