PRR's Port Road

Contact: Dr. Edmond Freed.

I model Harrisburg from Maclay Steet to ROY and then down the Port Road to Perryville, circa 1953-54. My layout is a 16'x 19' double-decker with a 5 loop helix in an air-conditioned two-car garage (no basements in Fla.).

Lower level contains Maclay Street to ROY; upper level is Shocks to Perryville.

Maclay Street has aan eight-stall roundhouse, turntable, diesel house, and most of the structures that were there at that time. My favorite structure is a scratch-kitbash model of the station & trainshed, built from pictures I took 20 years ago. I have at least one of every locomotive PRR had at that time (except for an S-1). Diesels are almost all double or triple headed. Last count was 154 locomotives & about 400 cars. I have also put together a 12 car Broadway Limited & a 50 car coal train.
