Yellow Creek, Ohio |

| A Baldwin switcher is moving coal train #20CW through Yellow Creek, Ohio, on a foggy afternoon in August, 1954. The homes in the background have seen many trains move through the Yellow Creek valley on the W&LE, which connects in their town. The town people do not miss the constant parade of steam engines that filled the valley with smoke and soot only a few years back. This AS616 switcher has a short 16 car coal train in tow. Hopefully, the humidity will subside with some afternoon sunshine. | ![]() |

![]() This photo was taken from the window of one of the homes in Yellow Creek, Ohio. The second bridge was built in 1936 when coal traffic increased and the railroads needed to expand freight revenues. Bridge number 1 was repainted early last summer. |
![]() A matching pair of Baldwin shark diesels are moving across the Yellow Creek bridge two with another coal train, #X60PT. This route has both W&LE and PRR traffic. |
