Mingo Jct., Ohio, Passenger Trains |
|||
In the left photo, eastbound passenger train #500 "The St. Louisan" arrives at Mingo Jct., Ohio. Not all trains stop at this station and this train is no exception, bt today there is some extra heavy traffic further east and until the Dispatch can clear the track, these PA's will wait for awhile.![]() The eastbound passenger train is not the only train waiting for clearance east. The F units are also waiting with a coal train, Extra 70, which is heading for Conway Yard northeast of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The engineer knows that they will be the second train out when traffic clears up. |

![]() A closer look at the good looking PA units. These two matching "A" diesels were built by the ALCO (American Locomotive Company). Some rail enthusiasts consider the PA diesels to be the most handsome of all diesels built. The F unit, #9678, on right is still waiting for the green light, but the engineer knows it must be close to departure because the headlamp is on. |
