Mid Point Yard, Mingo Jct., Ohio

Mid Point Yard in Mingo Junction, Ohio, is halfway between Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Columbus, Ohio. Thus, there is plenty of train action including plenty of local switching of industries. A GP35 is moving a couple of box cars to the Excel Die Crafters Company on the south side of Mingo Junction. Notice the rolling hills to the west as this area slopes down toward the Ohio River basin. The building to the immediate left is the International Manufacturing Company and the smaller building by the Geep is the Mid Point Yard office.

An Erie gondola with a fresh load of scrap metal is sitting on the Arrow Refurbishing industry track. The travelers on the platform are waiting for the eastbound local passenger train #400.

The Mingo Jct. Station and the local businesses are busy with bus and truck traffic and the trains are busy on the south side in Mid Point Yard. The building is the hotel.

A view in Mid Point Yard of Commercial Avenue. The young man on the scooter is crossing over to park at Arrow Refurbishing on the right.

Another view of the GP35 working Mid Point Yard. The light tan building is Heritage Furniture.
